General

You may browse the Auction site and view any item at any time.

If you use secure features ("Auction Watch", request more information about an item, Bidding, and Shipping Info) you must be logged on to an EX FACTORY Auctions account.

If not logged on, a prompt is displayed to login or register to open a free account with EX FACTORY Auctions.

Site Navigation

The top of each EXFA web page has a menu bar with links to go to other areas of the website at any time.

  • Getting Started - A quick start to EX-FACTORY Auction site usage that explains basic navigation, account, and bidding.
  • My Auction Watch - Secure area that requires you to be logged on to the EXFA site. This area may contain a list of links to Auction items of interest to you including:
    1. Any Item that you previously bid on.
    2. Any Item you requested to monitor in EXFA.
  • Closing Soon - Summary page of all auction items closing within the next (24) hours of the search time and sorted by ascending "Time Left" in auction.
  • Recently Added Items - Summary page of items added to the Auction within (48) hours of the search time and sorted by ascending "Time Left" in auction.
  • Sell My Equipment - Input area to identify surplus equipment you wish to auction, including how we may contact you for additional information about the item(s).
  • Help - Comprehensive information about this site (you are in the "Help" area now).

Navigation to Items

All web pages include navigation links on the left side. (See adjacent image).

Items are classified by Plant Auctions, All Open Items, your Recently Viewed Items (when you were logged on to the system), or by Machine Category or Manufacturer.
A keyword search is located at the top/right of each web page to quickly search for types of items such as Saws, Sanders, Edgebanders, etc. Results are shown on a summary page.
Alternatively, from the Auction's home page, click on any of photos or links in the center of the page.

Summary Page

Many links show a summary page (10 items per page) sorted by "Time Left" in auction.

Each summary item includes an image, brand/model/type, lot number, location, reserve status, # of Bids, Bid amount, and Time Left in auction.

 Both the image and the Brand/Model/Type link to the item's detail information.

All auction times are Eastern Standard Time (EST) except during Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) between the first Sunday of April to the last Sunday of October.

The bottom right of the summary page provides the following page navigation information:
  • Current "Page x of xx" position
  • Next Page and Previous Page navigation links
  • "Jump To" page number navigation

Navigation Within an Item

The detail view of each item includes "folder tabs" to access different information areas:
  • Details (default view). Includes a primary image & thumbnail link(s) to all other available images, bidding area & status, time remaining in auction; machine specification summary, optional machine description, and "Watch This Item" button to place the machine into "My Auction Watch".

    All specifications about the item are provided by the current owner.
    EXFA does its best to insure that the information is accurate, but does not accept responsibility regarding the accuracy of information or description supplied.

    The final decision as to the fitness of a particular machine for an application rests with the Buyer. We encourage all Bidders to personally inspect items to satisfy any questions or concerns. All auction items are available for inspection, although not all items are under power.

  • Terms. Item's specific "Terms & Conditions" for Payment, Inspection, Condition, Overtime, Processing Fee, Inspection location, and Removal Time. Also includes a link is to EXFA's complete "Terms and Conditions" that apply to all purchases.
    Unless clearly stated otherwise in this area, all items are offered "As-Is Where-Is";' there is no warranty for equipment.
  • Logistics. IItem's information regarding crating, rigging, shipping responsibility, pickup hours, and final date for removal for winning bidder.
    Consult this area to identify additional fees that may be added to the winning bid.
  • Request More Info - Secure area. You are prompted for your email address and password when you are not logged on to the EXFA site.

    Enter your request for additional information from the preformatted questions or in the free form area. Either generates an email to EXFA when you click the [Send] button

Navigate among the Auction Item's different detail views by selecting a different tab.

NOTE: When viewing details for an item within a summary group (e.g., category, All Open Items, etc.), you may advance to the next (or preceding) item by clicking on the double arrow just above the detail page's folder tabs.
